Man Alive! initiation

While we deeply believe in the transforming potential of our Man Alive! camps, we believe that men need more than occasional retreats. Participating in a Man Alive! initiation is the first step towards what else we have in mind for you.

Monthly Gatherings

We need to be taught by men who have been on the journey longer. Some of our men have been walking in this message for years. And they want to share with you what they’ve learned and are learning. Regular large-group gatherings will include teaching, movie clips, small-group processing, Q & A sessions, briefings and challenging group activities.

Adventure
Men need adventure.

Adventure comes in two varieties: casual and critical. We need both. To develop into men who have more courage and trust in God, we need to help each other get out of our comfort zones and risk a bit.

Casual adventures might include canoeing down a river, repelling down a cliff, hunting wild game, or climbing a mountain. These are all good ways to develop our masculine hearts. Casual adventures feed our sense of fun and play. They also give us opportunities to discover our strengths and weaknesses and be coached through difficult experiences. They prepare us for critical adventures.

Critical adventures make us even more dependent on God for the outcome. For example, doing a trip to a gospel-hostile country to encourage the Christians and evangelize under-the-radar. We also envision preparing to act as a disaster response team.

These adventures are the grist that will hone us into God’s men.
